But you’re overwhelmed.
Maybe you've asked yourself one of the following questions.
I had many of the same questions when we first began homeschooling, but I discovered a pivotal truth.
I cannot teach my children everything they need to know, but I can teach them how to learn.
In breaking free from restrictive beliefs about how I should teach and how my child should learn, I discovered that an engaging, rigorous education does not need to consume our lives or overwhelm me.
Instead, our lives enhance my children’s education. I no longer stress over establishing or deviating from “the plan.” I look forward to learning each day alongside my children.
Since embracing this truth, I’ve helped many overwhelmed moms find simple ways to implement an engaging, rigorous homeschool education.
I’d love to help you, too. Let’s work together to develop an educational plan tailored specifically to your children.
Working with a coach is not only for newbies or families facing challenges.
Any homeschool parent desiring to achieve their homeschool goals faster can benefit from a coaching session, regardless of how long you’ve been homeschooling.
Here are just a few of the concerns we can address.
Sometimes blog posts don’t answer all the questions you have, and you need a trusted guide to lead the way.
If you want someone to walk beside you, I’d love to help!
Together we can identify and make a plan to overcome the roadblocks keeping you and your children stuck so that you can achieve your homeschool goals and enjoying your homeschool experience.
What is homeschool coaching?
Coaching is a professional relationship focused on helping you become the parent and homeschool teacher/facilitator you want to be. Reasons parents seek coaching include to:
As your coach, I will walk with you through the struggles and challenges of homeschooling. We will work together to create customized solutions that work for your family and your homeschool.
What can we discuss on a coaching call?
It is unlikely that we would be able to address all of your concerns in one session. Try to narrow down your concern to your biggest problem, concern, or roadblock. Be prepared to submit the question you want to address before our call. Make your question as concise as possible.
How much does coaching cost?
Coaching sessions cost $50 per hour, paid prior to scheduling your session.
These costs include an intake survey (must be filled out by you before our first session), my preparation time prior to our meeting, a 1-hour meeting via Zoom, recorded video from our meeting, a short email summary sent within 48 hours, and limited follow-up after the meeting.
What can I expect during a session?
After you click the button below to schedule a coaching session, you will be taken to a page where you can purchase your initial session. After your purchase is complete, I'll contact you as soon as possible to set up a time to meet. (While I will make every attempt to contact you within 24 hours, please recognize that I am homeschooling my children and running a household as well.)
After purchasing your coaching session, you will be granted access to my Homeschool Coaching portal, where you can answer some questions about your homeschool and the struggles you are facing. Your answers to these questions will help me prepare for our meeting. (You'll also find a few bonus resources to help you on your homeschool journey.)
We’ll meet via a Zoom video call (or audio only if you prefer). Meetings last one hour. I'll prepare ahead of time by reading through the information you submitted. The more detailed information you provide and the more specific your question, the better prepared I can be for our meeting.
Once we're both online, we'll spend a few minutes getting to know each other. Then, I'll ask some questions to make sure I understand your situation as much as possible and receive clarification on the information you submitted, if necessary.
What support will I receive after a coaching session?
After our meeting, you will receive a link to the recorded video from our session and a short email summary.
Limited email support is available between meetings. You can email me to clarify what we discussed or ask a quick question. If it’s a quick answer, I’ll respond via email or a short video. If your question requires a longer explanation, we can arrange a time for an additional consultation session.
And I'd love to hear about your progress after our meeting.
What is your availability?
Like you, I am parenting and homeschooling, too, so I can only take on a limited number of coaching clients each month. Consultations are generally scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons between 2-5 p.m. Central Time. If these times do not work for you, please email me at email@example.com prior to purchasing your coaching session to discuss if alternative arrangements can be made.
What if I need to cancel?
My time is valuable, as is yours, and is always to be treated as such by both. Coaching sessions can be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to our scheduled meeting. Sessions canceled within 24-hours of our call are subject to forfeiting your session fee. (Special circumstances might arise, such as illness or emergencies. Please contact me regarding rescheduling within 24 hours of our call.)
Should my spouse or child join us for the call?
I'm happy to work with any of your family members present on the call. However, your time and money are valuable, so I would encourage you to consider having at least one meeting without your children present so you can vent, think, and process without interruption or reservation.
If you cannot meet without children or your spouse is unable to meet during my generally available times, email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can discuss a time that works best for you.
Do we need to have a video call?
No. If you would prefer not to have your video on or you do not have access to a webcam, you can leave your video off. If you do not have consistent Internet, you can call into the meeting. However, a significant portion of communication is nonverbal, so seeing each other on video can be very helpful. If it is possible for you to join via video, I would encourage you to consider doing so.
I'm local to you. Can we meet in person?
Unfortunately, I am not able to offer in-person coaching at this time.
